FAQ
FAQ
In this section, you will find answers to the most frequently asked questions about Brumos Agro.
What is Brumos Agro?
Brumos Agro is a 100% mineral-based soil amendment. It is based on alabaster (anhydrite I and II) and other highly micronized minerals that restructure the soil, creating a healthy environment for plant development.
What is Brumos Agro used for?
It is used to improve the structure of all types of soils. It improves water retention, provides essential nutrients, and promotes the development of plant root systems, allowing them to access nutrients already present in the soil. The result is a healthier crop that is more resistant to water stress, more productive and efficient, with better use of fertilizer and irrigation.
What is Brumos Agro made of?
It is formulated from highly micronized alabaster (anhydrite I and II), which, unlike conventional agricultural gypsum, is a high-purity, highly assimilable form of calcium sulfate. It also acts as a carrier for other essential nutrients such as silicon (Si), phosphorus (P), potassium (K), and iron (Fe), among others. All of these are of mineral origin, with no synthetic components. This makes Brumos Agro a highly sustainable product suitable for use in organic farming.
How does Brumos Agro work on the soil?
At a physical level, it improves soil structure by increasing aeration and porosity, while enhancing its capacity to absorb nutrients, resulting in more fertile soil. At a biochemical level, Brumos Agro incorporates the right nutrients into its formula to help regulate soil acidity, creating an optimal growing environment with ideal conditions for the colonies of microorganisms that regenerate the ecosystem. A healthier habitat that leads to stronger roots and more vigorous crops.
Is Brumos Agro a fertilizer?
No. Brumos Agro is not a fertilizer and does not replace fertilization. It is a soil amendment that complements fertilization and acts as a catalyst, helping plants absorb these inputs more effectively. Unlike fertilizers, Brumos Agro acts directly on the soil before the crop cycle begins and is compatible with any agronomic protocol. Its results are evident from the first application and, with subsequent applications to the same soil, stronger plants become less dependent on fertilization.
In addition, the increase in beneficial soil microorganisms resulting from the application of Brumos Agro contributes effectively to soil productivity, reducing the use of pesticides and herbicides and improving plant response to water stress.
What crops can Brumos Agro be applied to?
Brumos Agro is suitable for all types of soils and crops. It is particularly useful—and essential—for farms with degraded or compacted soils or soils with low organic matter, where water and nutrient availability is the main limiting factor.
How is Brumos Agro applied?
It is applied dry directly to the soil, before rainfall or followed by irrigation, to promote its incorporation. Application using light machinery (such as a disc spreader), a drone, or manual spreading is recommended to avoid soil compaction. It should be applied evenly at a specific rate of 600 kg/ha (60 g/m²).
How often should Brumos Agro be applied?
Application is carried out after harvest, before the start of each crop cycle, when the plant needs access to the nutrient reserves provided by Brumos Agro. The benefits are evident from the first application and improve with subsequent applications, reaching their maximum after 3–5 crop cycles.
Does Brumos Agro help reduce water stress and the threats posed by climate change?
Yes. By improving soil structure and soil health, it promotes root development, increases water retention capacity, and strengthens crop resilience against threats such as pests and water stress. In a context of irrigation restrictions and reduced water availability, making the most of every available drop of water becomes a direct agronomic and economic advantage.
Is Brumos Agro compatible with standard fertilization and irrigation practices?
Yes. Brumos Agro is designed to complement standard crop management practices, not replace them. By unlocking nutrients in the soil and improving its structure, it helps make fertilization and irrigation more effective and efficient.
Is Brumos Agro a sustainable product?
Yes. Brumos Agro is 100% mineral-based and follows a clear philosophy: we extract it from the earth, purify it, micronize it, and return it to the soil so that it can provide us with more and better crops, without using any combustion in the process. In addition, we improve soil structure, facilitating the regeneration of beneficial microbiota and thereby reducing the carbon footprint of agricultural operations. This footprint is further reduced as dependence on fertilizers, pesticides, and other synthetic products gradually decreases.
Is Brumos Agro registered?
Brumos Agro is registered as an anhydrite-based mineral soil amendment, classification 702A, guaranteeing a minimum content of 70% high-purity calcium sulfate, free from heavy metals and highly micronized in accordance with applicable regulations.
What makes Brumos Agro different?
The high purity and crystallization of the minerals that make up its formula, in carefully balanced proportions, provide—unlike other inputs—a highly concentrated source of essential nutrients for the soil. As a result, Brumos Agro offers a practical and affordable solution to support agricultural regeneration and represents a pragmatic and effective approach to soil improvement, focused on its ability to loosen, nourish, and restore the soil’s original properties.
How affordable is Brumos Agro?
Brumos Agro has access to the vast majority of the raw materials used in its formula, including the highest-purity alabaster, as well as extraction equipment, milling plants in Aragón, and an innovation and development team in the Valencian Community. Everything needed to cover the entire value chain, enabling us to bring to market a highly sought-after product that improves the profitability and performance metrics of any type of crop.
The launch price of the treatment, ex-plant, is €150 / 600 kg / 1 ha. The approximate price delivered to the farm is €200 / 600 kg / 1 ha.
